Welcome to my slice of the web!

Greetings, Bonjour, & Howdy World:

I did it…with great reluctance; I’ve given the only real thing of value I possess (my time) every night for two weeks creating this web site. Oh, I’ve had one for years, and it’s up to date and factually correct. But it looks as if a third grader built it in 1993.

So, what’s going on here? Why did I do it? After working on a manuscript (the e-postle) on and off for two decades, I’m ready to start a search for a literary agent. Well, I’m on the last chapter. Once the day job gave me the boot in March of 2020 (thanks, Covid!), I returned to the book in a serious way. And along the way, friend and fellow Spalding MFAer Charlotte Rains-Dixon has been providing me with valuable feedback…chapter-by-chapter. Of course, I’m gonna need a query letter and synopsis. Oh, and we cannot forget about those comps! (ugh!)

But beyond those obvious needs, there has been this web site. Every moment of every night, I wanted to be reading and writing: not doing web work. Plus, I do IT work all day for a living, so…. Well, I’d rather be reading and writing.

Speaking of which, it’s time to go. I’ll post new blog entries as I reach milestones with my manuscript and literary agent search. …but I don’t plan on being on this site much. I’d prefer to be out there, in the real world.

With affection and affliction….Roy
